Description

*** This welder package includes a wired foot control. If you prefer the wireless foot control, you need part # 907757002. ***

The Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC welding machine Multiprocess Welder (907757) is set to disrupt the market with the combination of MIG, Stick, AC/DC TIG, and Miller’s unparalleled reliability and craftsmanship. Building off the success of their Multimatic welders, Miller has combined AC capabilities for TIG with their trusted MIG/Stick technology. That means you now only need one Miller Electric MIG machine for all welding processes and all metals. Take on more projects with the Miller 220 MIG welder, which supports MIG, DC stick, and AC/DC TIG.

Thickness Capacities for MIG, Stick, and TIG
• MIG: 24 ga.–3/8 in.steel, 18 ga.–3/8 in. aluminum
• DC Stick: 16 ga.–3/8 in. steel
• AC/DC TIG: 24 ga.–1/4 in. steel and aluminum

QuickTech Technology for Faster Setup
The Multimatic 220 AC/DC comes equipped with all the necessary accessories to weld any process, which is unlike machines that require add-ons. With Miller’s QuickTech technology, setup and process changes are even easier.

• Automatically determines polarity; the work lead always goes into the bottom-right receptacle
• Allows a MIG gun and TIG torch to remain connected at the same time
• Automatically switches to the correct process when you hit the trigger or foot control
• Recalls the settings from the last process used

Auto-Set Elite for Fast, Accurate Setup
Auto-Set Elite offers fast, predefined settings for multiple processes and materials, enabling you to start welding quickly and confidently. You can use Auto-Set across every process, with the option to fine-tune your settings as needed.

• Works with all processes: MIG, stick, AC TIG, and DC TIG

• Lets you set weld parameters by selecting:
MIG: wire diameter and material thickness
Stick: electrode type, diameter, and material thickness
AC/DC TIG: tungsten diameter and material thickness

Pro-Set (TIG and Stick Manual Modes)
Pro-Set eliminates the guesswork when setting weld parameters. Simply turn the control until “Pro-Set” appears on the display and the number turns blue.

• AC Balance (AC TIG): Controls cleaning action (Pro-Set 75%)
• AC Frequency (AC TIG): Adjusts the arc cone width (Pro-Set 120 Hz)
• Pulse (DC TIG): Increases stability, penetration, and travel speed (Pro-Set 100 Hz)
• DIG (Stick): Tailors arc characteristics; ideal for 7018 electrodes (Pro-Set 30%)

Additional Performance Features
Advanced wire drive system with a robust angled design and Quick Select drive roll for fast, hassle-free wire changes. Includes multiple grooves for solid and flux-cored wire, ideal for a multiprocess MIG welding machine.

Dual shielding gas inputs let you keep both MIG and TIG gases connected at the same time, making this AC/DC multiprocess welder more efficient and eliminating downtime from switching hoses.

User-friendly 3.5-inch LCD interface with intuitive controls, clear setup graphics, and easy navigation, designed to simplify operation whether you’re using MIG, TIG, or stick welding modes.

Two Machines in One
Weighing only 56 pounds, the 220 Miller MIG Welder can go where the work is, and combines the functions of two machines into one. It operates on 120-volt or 240-volt power, letting you work virtually anywhere. Multi-voltage plug (MVP) easily connects to standard 120-volt or 240-volt power outlets (no tools required to change). Choose the plug that fits the receptacle and connect it to the power cord.

14-pin controlled operator alternatives
The standard 14-pin connector on your Multimatic 220 AC/DC lets you choose your control for a customized experience, whether it’s a foot control, fingertip control, or wireless foot control.
Wide range of TIG adjustability.
• AC Balance: Adjustable from 60–80%
• AC Frequency: Adjustable from 60–150 Hz
• DC Pulse: Adjustable from Off–150 pulses per second (PPS)
• TIG Post-Flow: Adjustable from Auto–25 seconds (accessible via service menu screen 12)
• Lift-Arc and high-frequency starts
• Tungsten size selection

Comes complete with:

• Power source (907757)
• 6.5 ft. (2 m) power cord with MVP plugs for 120 V and 240 V
• 10 ft. (3 m) MDX 100 MIG gun and cable assembly (Accepts Miller MDX Consumables)

• Hook-and-loop cord wraps

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the 220 be used for TIG welding applications?

The 220 Multiprocess welder is the go-to Miller machine for users who need greater control over heat input and arc stability. If you’re looking for precise and clean welds, you can be confident that the 220 supports TIG welding.

Does the 220 offer pulsed TIG welding capabilities?

When equipped with the proper TIG setup, this machine can handle pulsed TIG welding, which helps reduce heat distortion, improve arc control, and deliver cleaner welds on stainless steel, aluminum, and other heat-sensitive metals. Pulsed TIG is especially useful for intricate or cosmetic welds.

Is flux-cored welding compatible with this welder?

Yes. This machine supports flux-cored welding for heavy-duty jobs, outdoor environments, and situations requiring deeper penetration. It’s a great option when welding in windy conditions or working with thicker materials that require additional power.

When should I choose TIG welding instead of flux-cored welding?

TIG is used for precise, cosmetic welds, while flux-cored welding is suitable for thicker, rougher materials where strength is a priority.

TIG is ideal for welding stainless steel, aluminum, and thinner materials. On the other hand, flux-cored welding is particularly useful when working outdoors or welding thicker structural components that require strong penetration.

Can one machine realistically handle TIG welding, pulsed TIG welding, and flux-cored welding?

Yes, many multiprocess welders are designed to handle all three. With the correct torch, consumables, and settings, a single machine can switch between TIG, pulsed TIG, and flux-cored welding, giving fabricators the flexibility to tackle everything from fine detail work to heavy structural repairs.
